The Thirty Fifth National Conference on Fluid Mechanics and Fluid Power is being organised jointly by the National Society of Fluid Mechanics and Fluid Power and PES Institute of Technology, Bangalore, at the Department of Mechanical Engineering during December 11 to 13, 2008. This Society holds a National Conference every year and International Conference once in four years, either at an academic Institution or at R & D Organisation. The Thirty Fourth conference was held at BIT, Mesra, Ranchi.
Over the years, the country has made phenomenal progress in the field related to Fluid Mechanics and Fluid Power due to rapid advancements in the Computational and Experimental Facilities. The outcome has immensely benefited the industries in numerous ways.
The Society provides a common platform for academicians and scientists form educational Institutions and R&D Organisations and engineers and technologists from industries, to come together and discuss the progress made on various aspects of Fluid Mechanics and Fluid Power.
Eminent Personalities would be delivering Key Note Address, Memorial Lectures, State of Art Lectures and Invited Lectures to highlight the recent advancements made in the specialised fields of Fluid Mechanics and Fluid Power. A large number of academicians from Institutes, scientists from R&D Organisations, and engineers and technologists from Industries are expected to present, discuss and disseminate the achievements and advancements made in various Technological fronts during the Technical Sessions. This would interest the young participants to take up the career in the challenging field to meet the future technological requirements. Panel Discussion is also planned to identify the emerging and thrust areas and action plan for the future. Prizes instituted by the society will be awarded based on the quality of the Technical Papers presented during the Conference.
PES Institute of Technology, Bangalore, was established in 1988, by the renowned Educationist Prof.M.R.Doreswamy. The Institute attained the status of Autonomy in 2007. It offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral level Programmes in many disciplines of Engineering in addition to Applied Sciences, Computer Application, Management, etc.The campus is situated in the heart of the city of Bangalore. Bangalore is well connected by Rail and Air to almost all the major Cities. The weather during December is expected to be dry and cool. The temperature during December is likely to be in the range of 15 to 20 degree C.
Established in 1988, the Department of Mechanical Engineering of PESIT, Bangalore, offers B.E Degree Program in Mechanical Engineering, M Tech In Manufacturing science & Technology, M.Sc(Engg) and Ph.D Program of Visvesvaraya Technological University at Belgaum. The department has state of art facilities to pursue Research in the area of Manufacturing science, Composite Materials, Thermal management in electronics componenets & systems, Heat Exchangers and Finite Element Analysis of Engineering systems.
The Conference will focus on current research topics in different disciplines of Fluid Mechanics and Fluid Power and related activities including interdisciplinary areas. Technical deliberation in the following broad areas is envisaged:
